The Shells

PICKING THE SHELLS

Every shell is hand picked and matched to the other shells in the set.  Sonically matched shells play an extremely important roll in finding the perfect drum kit.  Once the sonically matched shells are selected, then they are taken to the woodshop.

WOODWORK

The first and most critical stage is the bearing edge.  Canwood researchers have spent extensive time and money in finding the perfect angles for the bearing edge.  The bearing edge is responsible for the increased resonant factor in Canwood drums.  Once the bearing edge is cut, it is then hand sanded, rechecked, and trued.  This process ensures that your drums will achieve maximum resonance and optimum tone.  The holes for the lugs and hardware are drilled in preparation for the staining and lacquering process.

ALL CANWOOD DRUMS ARE 100% HAND SANDED AND HANDMADE.

STAINING AND LACQUERING

Many drum manufactures treat this stage as an esthetic cosmetic and detailed research has been neglected.  Our Canwood researchers believe that staining and lacquering of the shell is extremely important to the overall sound of your drums.  After exhaustive research, we have found a formula that will enhance the resonant tone of your drums unmatched by other manufactures.
